Why do I need a mass content day?
Mass content days aren't there to help you on that day, they're there to propel you in the future. On a low energy day, you don't want to be filming or designing your posts. Mass content days exist so that on those low energy days, you have ready to go content, all you have to do is click post. If you follow the checklist, and use the tips and tricks in this article, it won't take all day, you'll be pleasantly surprised by how easy it is, and you might just add a mass content day to your monthly routine.
Checklist:
It is very important to work in a way that won't cause burnout. If you record, then edit, then write a caption, and then save every video to your drafts, you'll run out of creative energy fast. You'll get tired, bored and done with your content creation long before you should be. This step-by-step checklist will help you lock-in, not burnout, and get every post done.
Before you start: Make sure you're in a good mood, a quiet environment, and have a good space to film. A mass content day won't work if your house is full of noise or if you're grumpy. Good moods shine through, so on a bad day, you have a positive video ready to share. Make sure you have some snacks and a drink to fuel you through the process.
Choose every topic you want to film/design
Before you start, decide how many posts you want to make. If you want to make 20 posts, then pick 20 topics, long before you ever hit record.
Click the button
Once you have your topics, just record each video. Don't worry about jump-cuts or editing, thats for a later step. Just record your video, and click save, then move onto the next video.
Add a cover to your video
This way, when they're all sitting in your drafts, you know which is which. This also saves a step on posting day. Each video will be easy to see, so you know which one to post, or edit, when the time comes.
Edit your video
Maybe tonight, maybe another night, maybe the day of the post. Once your content is created, you can start editing. Trying to edit all 20 videos in one night is a lot of work, that no one wants to do. I usually edit one post the night before I post it, that way it's ready to go in the morning.
Click post
Write out your caption, add your hashtags, and share your post with the community!
Tip One: Quick and Easy Topics
You should have a million topics on hand at all times. Whenever you get an idea, write it down! Then, on a day like today, go through your list. What do you already know everything about? What topics will have little to no research needed, and will be a breeze to film? Don't worry about how much it will take to edit, just worry about the filming or design process.
Tip Two: Just record
When you're worried about jump-cuts and editing, you're stealing time and energy from yourself. Forget about the bloopers, just click record. It should be one long clip (yes, even if you're switching scenes). The editing process comes later, way later. Once all your videos/designs are made, you can worry about editing them, but for now, we're just getting a thought onto a screen. Just click record, and don't stop that video until you're done. Plus, bloopers make for funny videos later.
Tip Three: Be Fueled
You need to bring snacks, a drink, and good energy. Sometimes, filming/designing can be a TON of work. It's emotionally taxing because you're high energy in every video, you're putting on a performance for hours, with no one else to fuel that social energy. Food is gold, get a good snack, something salty or sour, something very stimulating. Then get a delicious drink to pair with your snack. Make sure you're in a good mood, and make sure you stay in a good mood through the whole process. This way, your videos are as positive as they need to be, and you have something positive to post when you're having a long day.
When you need to make a bunch of content, do it right. Make it easy and fun on yourself. The best way to do this, is to be prepared and use the tips and tricks I shared with you today.
Have a wonderful week!
